Christie's, the famous auctioneer disclosed information about the jewels of Maharaja of Kapurthala. The jewellery pieces belonged to Anita Delgado. She was a Spanish flamenco dancer and singer from Andalusia. During the festival for the marriage of King Alfonso XIII in 1906, Maharaja Sir watched her performance in a cafe concert. Maharaja sir attempted to court
her and later persuaded her to marry him.
